I am interested in making additional money through part-time work. I have been applying on line with various employers in the area. A possibility is one of the many "work at home" jobs that are offered. In particular, using my computer. I keep seeing opportunities to make money taking surveys. What are your thoughts on this particular offer and the many others that are presented through the "work at home" positions?

Why doesn’t Yahoo ban the IP address of work at home scams?
Posters and answerers are in cahoots. I’ve been keeping track and it started with ‘Ways 14 year old girl can make money?’
Many phrases in different postings of questions/answers are the same, along with the way the amount of money is typed (1100$) The names are similar, usually having an initial and they all started Y!/A around June of this year. Oh, and the catergories are really way off.
I’ve reported a bunch and sometimes they’re gone in an instant; other times they stay or only the answerer is gone.
Wait till you read my questions if they try to mess with me now!

I have the opportunity to go to school, for 2 years preferably oR LESS.(web based mostly). My goal is to work from home, 20-40 hours a week, making 30,000 -45K a year at some point. What industry can I go into that has a large group of people that are working from home, relatively easy to find work, and doesnt require travel or talking to people on the phone alot. (i have kids in the background) I am kinda looking for something more than medical transcription or coding/billing. any other ideas? NO SALES.

I want to work from home for a variety of reasons. Not having a car, living in a town with no job opportunities, and the nearest "city" close to thirty miles away are just some of the issues. Are there websites or companies that offer legitimate work at home chances without asking for money or trials? I have done some research and all I can find are scams that take your money.

A JOB should have an application process, interview process and is not something you should have to PAY for or just fill in your name, email address, etc. to ‘join’.
If you live in the US and are interested in virtual assistant type jobs, I will be glad to send you a link to some legit sites. I would HIGHLY recommend you avoid these posts of "free to join" offers. They aren’t JOBS, and very rarely do you make any significant money for the time spent.

I know you are looking for a work at home program, I don’t know of a legitimate one although they may be out there. I looked for 4 years, sold product, was scammed, lost money/time/efforts BUT learned some great lessons. It also led me to find the company that offered me an opportunity to have my own busniess from home. I work for the nations largest health/dental care benefits company, from home, with my 2 boys and I MAKE money while helping others do the same and save money on their benefits. I do not cold call, no products, no selling, no bugging friends and family, no door to door….anyway…it’s just a thought….check it out, it may or may not be for you–
